Picturesqueness: Marinduque

Like I said: Over a couple of beers and a lousy order of nachos, my office friends and I decided to take a break from work and go on a trip outside the metro.  I haven’t visited our province for quite some time now so I suggested we go to Marinduque.  Half of it that is. 03/04/2011 - 03/06/2011

Day 1: AM
We left around 4 o'clock in the morning
Getting there would require a bus ride from Manila to Dalahican Port, Lucena, Quezon
And a RORO ride to Balanacan port, Mogpog, Marinduque
Or you can take a plane ride to Gasan, Marinduque if you want
During the off peak season you can enjoy a comfortable ride, be playful and silly
the duration of the trip may vary depending on what boat you board on
The port has this gigantic monument of Birhen ng Biglang-Awa
As well as a Moriones Sinakulo monument

From the Port we took a jeep to Balaring, Boac
Home! Balaring, Boac
Day 1: PM
After having lunch we went on to explore the island
Our private ride and guide Mannyboi!
First stop Malbog Sulphuric Hot Spring Resort, Malbog, Buenavista; a real pool of
Hot Spring water, t
he place stinks like fart yet we ignored that fact and still went for a dip
Caution: Be careful of wild boars roaming around the area, nyahahaha
Our second destination is a Laguna type hot spring resort to rinse off the sulfuric
smell from Malbog.
Marinduque Hot Spring
We made a quick stop at Gasan, Marinduque
and tried out the old suspension bridge, still strong and capable huh!
Back home: a korean drinking session took place, three different types of
soju accompanied by a hot ham rameon soup
Before starting the korean drinking session we tried out
the local tuba first
Here we go!
 Day 2: AM
We have everything planned out for the day
Surprise, surprise, local kakanin for breakfast
early to bed, early to rise
Ventured the beach front of our home, explored the reefs
Look at what we found
And then we are off, our planned hike to Bulusukan falls, Buenavista
More hiking
And climbing, this is where we stop. I can't have my
companions go through this hazard
We settled for this small water fall rather than crossing a tight rope
to get to the main falls. hahahahaha, weak!
After the hike we needed to shop for something to consume at Tres Reyes
Yeah that's a normal sized pusit for you
Day 2: PM
Highlight of the day was Kres' fear of boat rides
That's one of the islands of Tres Reyes, Gasan; our next stop
Here we go!  We rented the boat for a thousand pesos for the whole afternoon
touchdown
Some of our domesticated companions on the island :P
White corals and not fine sand
A great view of the Marinduque island
Then we are back at the mainland
Tequila night

Day 3: AM
A half day walk at the capital city
Simbahan ng Boac
Simbahan ng Boac
Wave
Old houses and unique parking signs by the Boac hotel
Buying the pasaubongs at the dry market
The famous arrowroot
Lunch at Kusina na Plaza, Boac
 Day 3: PM
Homeward bound

Took an alternate RORO from Cawit port, Boac going back to Lucena, Quezon
There you have it, bye for now said Ervin
That was fun, thanks to my relatives and childhood friend, Mannyboi, for accommodating us.
